This training empowers you to fully apply Ayurvedic culinary arts to your own life and be truly creative with Ayurvedic food.  And for those who seek to use Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition in your career, this training will give you the tools you need to make that shift. 

 

Course Overview

Complete your ANACT journey with the Professional course, the second level of Divya Alter’s comprehensive online nutrition and culinary training. With over 200 hours of live class time, this course will allow you to create delicious, balancing meals that will deeply nourish your loved ones and your communities. This Professional course will also prepare you to start your own food business as an Ayurvedic chef or nutritional consultant. 

Who is this course for?

ANACT Professional is appropriate for ANACT Foundation graduates who would like to continue to develop and refine their Ayurvedic culinary skills, or for those who want to incorporate Ayurvedic nutrition and food principles into their occupation. This includes working at a food service establishment, starting a business that focuses on wellness through healthy food, caregiving for mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, teaching cooking classes, hosting retreats, catering dining events, writing cookbooks, professional recipe testing, and more.

The training is vegetarian (no meat, fish, or eggs), and it can accommodate students with dairy-free and gluten-free needs. If you have other specific dietary requirements, please reach out to our staff upon registering to learn if your needs can be met.

ANACT Foundations is a prerequisite to registering for ANACT Professional.

Course Format:

  • A curriculum of 10 modules, including 3 full cooking modules

  • Online classes, held via Zoom and a customized learning platform

    • Through the learning platform, you will be able to

      • introduce yourself,

      • participate in group discussions and comment on others’ assignments, 

      • private message individuals or groups,

      • complete and submit assignments, 

      • access a comprehensive library of class content, recipes, and photos (all downloadable), and 

      • browse supporting resources

  • 40+ live lessons (many with an accompanying live Q&A session) with a diverse group of renowned teachers

    • Sessions are 2-3 hours long

    • Lessons held primarily on weekends; Q&A sessions primarily on Thursdays

    • For an optimal learning experience for all, we highly encourage regular attendance during the live sessions. If, however, you are unable to attend live, the sessions will be recorded for you to watch them at your convenience.

    • Some classes will be primarily content/theory while others will be primarily application through observing a cooking demonstration and then encouraged to try on your own at home. 

  • Weekly live office hour call, hosted by teaching assistants

  • Weekly readings and practical assignments that increase your understanding and integration of skills. 

  • Cumulative learning opportunities through two end-of-course formal assessments 

  • Structure for small-group community building/course support (optional and student-led)

In-Person Immersion

  • This in-person immersion is a rare opportunity to to learn from Divya in person

  • A emphasis on hands-on practice time to refine all our cooking skills, kitchen organization and teaching skills, and engage all of our senses in the kitchen—touch and smell the ingredients, taste our finished recipes, and enjoy delicious meals all together

  • The immersion will be hosted at our new teaching space in Greenwich Village, New York City

  • This immersion optional for the ANACT Professional course. It is not required for graduation, but it is an opportunity to practice and refine the skills we learn in ANACT.

  • This immersion experience will be open only to ANACT Professional students, and seats will be limited to keep the experience intimate.
